Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 31, 2026
1. Overview
iBowlTournaments.com ("the Site") and the iBowlTournaments mobile application ("the App") respect your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. We are committed to keeping your personal data safe and will never sell your information to third parties.
This policy applies to both our website at iruntournaments.com and our Android mobile application available on the Google Play Store.
2. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name — Used to identify you within the platform.
- Email address — Used for account access, verification, and optional tournament reminders.
- State (optional) — Used to suggest nearby tournaments and for anonymous geographic statistics.
- Password — Stored securely using one-way hashing (bcrypt). We never store or see your actual password.
When you use the Score Doctor, we also collect:
- Bowling scores — Frame-by-frame shot data, session dates, bowling center names, and game results.
- Equipment data — Ball names, brands, and specifications you choose to enter.
When you use our mobile app, we may additionally collect:
- Approximate location (optional) — Used to find bowling tournaments near you. Location is only accessed when you grant permission and is not stored on our servers.
- Device identifiers — Used by Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications (tournament reminders). These identifiers are managed by Google Firebase and are not shared with third parties.
- USBC number — Used to verify your identity as a registered bowler with the United States Bowling Congress.
3. How We Use Your Information
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Name | Display in your account profile; leaderboard entries (high games/series only) |
| Account login, password resets, optional tournament reminders | |
| State | Tournament location filtering, anonymous geographic stats |
| Bowling scores | Personal statistics dashboard, session reports, printable summaries |
| Equipment | Track which ball was used per shot (visible only to you) |
4. What We Share Publicly
We take privacy seriously. Here is exactly what may be visible to others:
- Leaderboard entries for high games and 3-game series (name and score only)
- Anonymous community statistics (total games bowled, average scores, strike percentages) — these contain no identifying information
- Your email address
- Your individual game scores, frame data, and session details
- Your personal statistics and trends
- Your equipment and ball data
- Your saved calendar and tournament preferences
5. Anonymous Aggregate Data
When you complete a game, we create an anonymized record containing only the game date, total score, and frame counts (strikes, spares, etc.). This record has no user ID, no name, and no email — it cannot be traced back to you. This data powers our community statistics section that shows overall averages across all bowlers.
6. Cookies, Sessions & Third-Party Services
On our website, we use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics services that collect personal data on the website. No data is shared with advertisers.
Our mobile app uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase Analytics — Collects anonymous usage statistics (app opens, screen views) to help us improve the app. No personally identifiable information is shared. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — Used to deliver push notifications for tournament reminders you opt into. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
7. Data Security
We protect your data through:
- Encrypted password storage (bcrypt hashing)
- CSRF token protection on all form submissions
- Parameterized database queries to prevent SQL injection
- HTTPS encryption for data in transit
8. Data Retention
Your account data and scores are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data (name, email, scores, equipment) will be permanently removed. Anonymous aggregate records (which contain no identifying information) may be retained.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — View all personal data we have about you (available through your account dashboard).
- Correct — Update your name, email, and profile information at any time.
- Delete — Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

10. Email & Push Notifications
We may send you:
- Account emails — Verification, password resets (required for account functionality).
- Tournament reminders — Only for events you explicitly saved, with the reminder interval you chose. These may be sent via email or push notification on the mobile app.
- Occasional updates — We may send infrequent emails about important site updates or new features. You may unsubscribe from these at any time.
We will never sell your email to mailing lists or share your email with tournament coordinators or third parties.
